RIA Novosti wins Digital Communications Awards

MOSCOW, February 27 – RIA Novosti. The RIA Novosti media holding has won the 2013 Digital Communications Awards in the Best Digital Strategy category. Editor-in-Chief Svetlana Mironyuk received the award from Dzhemir Degtyarenko, Executive Director of the Russian Association of Communication and Corporate Media Directors.
The awards were presented in 16 categories on February 27 at the RIA Novosti Multimedia Press Center. RIA Novosti won the Best Digital Strategy award.
“We are happy to be receiving this award because the digital strategy of RIA Novosti is not merely a strategy. It is part of our philosophy and corporate culture. Our journalists produce news for a variety of platforms and devices and we have an exceptionally flexible audience,” Mironyuk said in her acceptance speech.
She hoped the guests of the ceremony would become the first digital generation in Russia.
Intel Russia won the award for the best corporate YouTube channel. Vedomosti came first in the best Facebook page category while Unilever won the best Vkontakte page award. Aeroflot boasts the best Twitter account. Tinkoff Credit Systems has the best Odnoklassniki page. Rambler Afisha chief editor Yury Saprykin received the award for the best manager's blog.
Yandex Navigator won the best mobile application award for Yandex while the ivi.ru online movie theater service won the best iPad application. The best viral video award went to Aeroexpress. Rosatom won the best corporate game for game content for social media. Zoich the Frog won the Artem Lebedev Studio the award for best digital brand character.
LG Electronics was recognized as the most socially responsible company online for its blood donation volunteering project. Eldorado won the best digital innovation award. Cossa.ru is the best digital media. Kommersant was declared the winner for best social media promotion.
Degtyarenko said that Digital Communications Awards is the new platform for companies that are set for success in their niche. The award ceremony took place during the 2013 Digital Communications in Russia conference, organized by the association and the Media Business publishing house.
