About 150,000 Muscovites and guests of the Russian capital took part in New Year's celebration on Moscow's Red Square and surrounding areas
The death toll from the flu outbreak in Ukraine has risen to 727, the country's Health Ministry reported on Friday.
Ukraine's
flu epidemic began at the end of October and over 1.4 million have
fallen ill. At least 78,000 people have been hospitalized and over 300
patients are still kept in intensive care. All educational establishments in the capital Kiev were closed, and
people were obliged to wear medical masks in all catering
establishments, shops and social services facilities across the former
Soviet republic.

Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan will use common customs tariffs starting January 1 in line with an agreement to form a customs union.
Russia will impose a full customs duty on oil deliveries to Belarus starting January 1 after the failure of bilateral talks on Thursday
