MOSCOW, June 22 (RIA Novosti) - Two incidents with Russian carrier rockets that happened within less than 19 hours of each other will not affect plans to conduct a launch scheduled for June 23 from the Sea Launch space launch system, and on June 24 from the Baikonur Space Center, Valery Lyndin, a Russian Space Mission Control Center spokesperson, told RIA Novosti.

"The launches will be conducted using different types of carrier rockets, by different organizations, and from different launch sites," he said.

He explained the two failures involved a Molnya-M carrier rocket that had taken off from the Plesetsk Space Center, and the Cosmos-1 spacecraft with its "solar sail" from a submarine in the Barents Sea.

"The next launch will use a Zenith carrier rocket from Sea Launch in the Pacific Ocean, and then a Proton rocket carrying a telecommunications satellite will take off from the Baikonur Space Center in Kazakhstan," the Mission Control spokesperson said.

The incident with the Molnya carrier rocket, which was carrying a military telecommunications satellite, did not affect the scheduled launch of a unique spacecraft with a "solar sail" from a Russian submarine, which took place on June 21 but failed, as well.
