Novovoronezh NPP's turbogenerator shut down following alarm
MOSCOW, September 5 (RIA Novosti) - A turbogenerator was shut down Monday morning at the Novovoronezh Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) following an alarm, Russian nuclear energy company Rosenergoatom reported.
Turbo-generator No. 13 of the fifth power-generating unit of the Novovoronezh NPP was shut down.
"The causes for shutting down [the turbogenerator] have been identified and eliminated. The power-generating unit is being put back into full operation," the company said.
There were no infringements of safety procedures and the radiation level at the plant and the surrounding territory are consistent with natural levels, the company reported.
The Novovoronezh NPP was the first nuclear plant in Russia to have a water-cooled power reactor.
