MOSCOW, February 3 (RIA Novosti) - A computer virus was to blame for trade being suspended on the Russian Trading System (RTS) stock exchange on February 2, the RTS said Friday. "On February 2, 2006, a computer virus attack forced a suspension of trading on the RTS FORTS futures market, classic market and the stock exchange," the RTS said in a statement.

The virus paralyzed data processing, the statement said.

Trading resumed after RTS specialists localized the virus and switched off the infected computer. They tested and restarted all RTS computer systems, the statement said.

According to the statement, "the virus attack had no irreversible consequences for the RTS work and no data were lost."

According to the RTS, its specialists also took measures to prevent the possibility of such virus attacks in the future.
