LUKoil reports 4.5% rise in oil output in 2005

MOSCOW, February 7 (RIA Novosti) - Leading Russian oil company LUKoil saw a 4.5% increase in its oil production to 90 million metric tons in 2005, the company's press office said Tuesday.

LUKoil's average daily oil production was almost 1.81 million barrels per day in 2005, 4.8% up from 2004.

The average production rate of oil wells during that period rose to 11.07 metric tons per day, an increase of 3.5% year-on-year.

LUKoil produced 7.57 billion cu m of gas in 2005, up 16.9% and average daily gas production rose 17.3%.

Natural gas production hit 2.63 billion cu m in 2005, exceeding the 2004 figure by 43.8%.

LUKoil expanded its domestic refining volume 8.4% year-on-year to 47.28 million metric tons. Refining at foreign plants rose 23.7% after the Romanian Petrotel-Lukoil refinery began its operations.
