Rambler Media says its IFRS net loss down almost 50% in 2005

MOSCOW, May 11 (RIA Novosti) - Rambler Media (LSE: RMG) said Thursday its net loss calculated to International Financial Reporting Standards almost halved in 2005 to $2.38 million.

Rambler Media, an integrated Internet holding that owns major Russian-language web portal Rambler.ru, provides Russian-language Internet, mobile, and television services.

Sales grew 71% in 2005 to $21.42 million, from $12.5 million in 2004, including a 110% increase in sales of Internet services, from $7.01 million to $14.82 million.

Earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA), also known as gross profit, were -$0.6 million in 2005 against -$3.22 million in 2004.

Rambler Media, listed in the AIM segment of the London Stock Exchange, owns Rambler.ru, a Russian-language Internet portal and search system; the Rambler television channel; information website Lenta.ru; Internet provider Rambler Telecom; advertising agency Index20; and the Rambler Mobile group of mobile technology and content companies.
