MOSCOW, May 18 (RIA Novosti) - Russia is planning to bid in a tender for construction of a nuclear power plant in Vietnam, the state-run company that builds the facilities overseas said Thursday.

"Should a tender be announced, Atomstroiexport will have good chances of winning it," the company press service said. "Russian experts have extensive experience in building NPPs overseas."

Vietnam plans to commission its first nuclear plant in 2015-2020.

"Atomstroiexport is ready to implement the entire project on a turnkey basis as well as to organize training for Vietnamese personnel," the press service quoted the company's First Vice President Alexander Glukhov as saying.

An Atomstroiexport delegation is attending a four-day international nuclear energy exhibition in Hanoi, ending May 19. In addition to Russia, delegations from France, the Republic of Korea, and Japan are also taking part.

The Russian delegation is set to conduct talks with the Industry Ministry, the Science and Technology Ministry, the Atomic Energy Commission and the Energy Institute of Vietnam.

Atomstroiexport is Russia's leading company implementing intergovernmental agreements on building nuclear facilities overseas. It is the world's only company building five power units for nuclear power plants in China, India and Iran.
