MOSCOW, June 28 (RIA Novosti) - LUKoil (RTS: LKOH) said Wednesday it was considering establishing a joint venture with a Slovenian oil refinery.
"We have a proposal to create a joint venture," LUKoil vice-president Leonid Fedun said.
Fedun said the joint venture with Slovenia's Petrol will most likely be set up on a parity basis.
Petrol is Slovenia's leading energy company, headquartered in the country's capital, Ljubljana. It supplies oil and other energy products to the Slovenian market. In 2005, the company sold 2 million metric tons of oil products.
