Svyazinvest, one of the largest telecoms holdings in the world with almost 8 million subscribers, said its revenues in the reporting period grew 15.7% to 185.18 bln rubles (about $6.5 bln), profits from core business operations increased 34.2% to 31.15 bln rubles (about $1.1 bln) and pre-tax profit went up 22.1% to 22.51 bln rubles (about $787 mln).
Svyazinvest combines seven large regional operators, including Uralsvyazinform (RTS: URSI and 3.6 mln subscribers), VolgaTelecom (RTS: NNSI and 2.4 mln subscribers) and Sibirtelecom (RTS: ENCO and 1.5 mln subscribers).
The holding also controls 51% in Rostelecom, Russia's largest long-distance telecom services provider (RTS: RTKM), and has a minority interest (28%) in Moscow City Telephone Network (RTS: MGTS).
