MOSCOW, August 24 (RIA Novosti) - Russian pipeline company Stroitransgaz said Thursday it signed a $110-mln contract with Indian company Reliance Gas Transportation Infrastructure to build the first two sections of a trunk East-West pipeline in India.
The 1,386 km. (861-mile) pipeline is designed to meet the growing requirements of India's central, western and northern states for natural gas.
The project, expected to be launched in October 2006, will be implemented over a period of 15 months.
