MOSCOW, August 30 (RIA Novosti) - The U.S. dollar steadied on the Russian foreign exchange market Wednesday as market traders waited for updated U.S. GDP growth data.
It grew to 26.73 rubles on the Moscow InterBank Currency Exchange (MICEX) at the start of the trading session Wednesday, up from 26.67 rubles at yesterday's close. It also rose to $1.282 to the euro, from $1.283, in international trading.
The further evolution of the dollar-ruble rate will depend on updated U.S. second quarter data on GDP, which is expected to grow to 3% from the previous figure of 2.5%. The data will be released 16:30 p.m. Moscow time (12:30 p.m. GMT).
