Gazprom, S. Korea's Kogas discuss Russian gas supplies

MOSCOW, September 6 (RIA Novosti) - Gazprom [GAZP] and the Korea Gas Corporation (Kogas) discussed Wednesday Russian natural gas supplies.

Gazprom chief executive Alexei Miller and Kogas president Soo-Ho Lee met in the Russian capital to discuss progress in the implementation of a five-year cooperation agreement signed in 2003 and the drafting of an inter-state treaty on gas supplies to South Korea, whose gas market is completely dependent on imports of liquefied natural gas.

'The parties discussed issues related to the delivery of pipeline gas from Russia, and also liquefied and compressed gas," the press office of the Russian energy giant said.

Russia is seeking to diversify its gas exports as it faces stiff resistance from European countries to Gazprom's ambitions to expand on their markets.
