MOSCOW, September 11 (RIA Novosti)- Surgutneftegaz [RTS: SNGS] said Monday its oil output increased 3.4% year-on-year in the first eight months of 2006 to 43.59 million metric tons (1.33 million bbl/d).
The Siberian oil company's data included output at its Talakan oilfield in East Siberia, where Surgutneftegaz has produced more than 170,000 metric tons of oil (5,190 bbl/d) since the beginning of the year.
Gas production increased 1.6% year-on-year in January-August 2006 to 9.69 billion cubic meters and gas processing totaled more than 2.80 billion cu m.
Drilling reached 2.15 million meters of rock, including about 100,000 meters of exploratory drilling. The company also commissioned 615 new wells in January-August 2006 compared with 612 wells in the same period of 2005.
