Russian oil export tax rises 9.8% to $237.6 per ton as of Oct. 1

The customs duty on the export of crude oil and petroleum products, fixed at a record level of $237.6 per ton by the Russian government in mid-September, comes into effect Sunday, representing a 9.8% increase from $216.4 per as of August 1.
MOSCOW, October 1 (RIA Novosti) - The customs duty on the export of crude oil and petroleum products, fixed at a record level of $237.6 per ton by the Russian government in mid-September, comes into effect Sunday, representing a 9.8% increase from $216.4 per as of August 1.

The tax is revised every two months, based on Urals crude prices on world markets.
