MOSCOW, November 16 (RIA Novosti) - The Moscow Arbitration Court ruled Thursday to add 42.04 billion rubles (about $1.5 billion) in fines to the 2004 back tax bill of the bankrupt Yukos Oil Company [RTS: YUKO].

Yukos, once Russia's largest oil company, was declared bankrupt August 1 after three years of litigation with tax authorities over the company's tax arrears.

Now the company's 2004 back tax bill amounts to 353.8 billion rubles (about $13.2 billion).

Yukos, whose founder Mikhail Khodorkovsky is serving an eight-year prison term in Siberia after being convicted of fraud in May 2005, faced a total of 586.6 billion rubles (almost $22 billion) in claims from its 54 registered creditors as of November 2.
