MOSCOW, January 31 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's flagship air carrier Aeroflot [RTS: AFLT] said Wednesday its net profit, calculated to Russian Accounting Standards, rose 46.2% in the first nine months of 2006, year-on-year, to $186.3 million.
Aeroflot carried 6.7 million passengers in the reporting period, up 6.3%, year-on-year.
The airline said it carried 109,300 metric tons of cargo and mail, 1.5% down on the same period of the previous year.
Founded in 1923, Aeroflot accounts for 39% of Russia's international air traffic and 11% of domestic flights.
