Assets of Russia's top 30 banks grow 45.3% in 2006

MOSCOW, February 12 (RIA Novosti) - The asset value of Russia's top 30 banks increased 45.3% year-on-year in 2006, to 9,515 billion rubles (about $361.1 billion) as of January 1, the Central Bank said Monday.

The assets of Russia's top 30 banks stood at 6,549 billion rubles (about $248.54 billion) as of January 1, 2006, the CBR said on its Web site.

The list includes: AK Bars Bank, Alfa Bank, Zenit Bank, Bank of Moscow, Binbank, Vneshtorgbank, Vneshtorgbank Retail Services, Vozrozhdeniye Bank, Gazprombank, Impexbank, Sibakadembank, MDM Bank, International Moscow Bank (IMB), International Industrial Bank, Uniastrum Bank, Nomos-Bank, Bank Petrocommerce, Promsvyazbank, Industrial and Construction Bank, Raiffeisen Austria, Rosbank, Russian Agricultural Bank (Rosselkhozbank), Russian Standard Bank, Sberbank, Svyaz-Bank, ZAO Citibank, Sobinbank, TransCreditBank, Trust National Bank and Uralsib.

The profits of Russia's 30 largest banks climbed 41.4% in January-December 2006, to 252.530 billion rubles ($9.58 billion), the CBR said.
