MOSCOW, March 22 (RIA Novosti) - In 2006, the net profit of Wholesale Generating Company (WGC)-6 increased 220% to 1.2 billion rubles ($46.1 million), against 381.2 million rubles ($14.6 million) in 2005, the company said in a fiscal report.
The company's gross profit increased more than five times from 368.3 million rubles (more than $14.1 million) to 1.9 billion rubles ($73 million) in 2006.
WGC-6, a subsidiary of Russia's electricity monopoly Unified Energy System (UES), was registered on March 17, 2005.
The company has six subsidiaries - the Kirishi Hydroelectric Power Plant, the Krasnoyarsk Hydroelectric Power Plant-2, the Novocherkassk Hydroelectric Power Plant, the Ryazan Hydroelectric Power Plant, Hydroelectric Power Plant-24 and the Cherepovetsk Hydroelectric Power Plant. WGC-6's design capacity is 9,052 MW.
