YEREVAN, April 28 (RIA Novosti) - Sweden's OMX Group, a Nordic Exchange operator, will buy Armenia's Stock Exchange and Central Depository, the Central Bank of Armenia said Saturday.
"The Scandinavian stock exchange group OMX, the government of Armenia, and the Central Bank of Armenia have signed a memorandum of intent in which OMX stated its intention to purchase the Armenian Stock Exchange, ArmEX, and the Central Depository of Armenia," the bank press service said.
Armenian Prime Minister Serzh Sarkisyan welcomed OMX Group's decision to participate in developing Armenia's capital market.
"The government and the Central Bank of Armenia will do all they can to help OMX attain its goals," he said.
