MOSCOW, May 14 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's flagship air carrier Aeroflot [RTS: AFLT] posted Monday a 1.2 billion rubles ($45 million) net loss, calculated to Russian Accounting Standards (RAS) for the first three months of the year, against 399 million ($15 mln) in net profit in January-March 2006.

The airline, which accounts for 39% of Russia's international passenger traffic and 11% of domestic flights, did not elaborate on the reason for the losses.

The state-run company earlier said it had received 8 billion rubles (about $307 million) in RAS net profits in 2006, a 32% rise year-on-year.

Sales proceeds were 12.5 bln rubles ($482 mln), with the cost of services at 13.5 bln rubles ($523 mln) in January-March.

Accounts payable increased from 7.4 bln rubles ($287 mln) to 11 bln ($417 mln) over the reporting period. Accounts receivable grew from 17.5 bln ($679 mln) to 23 bln ($878 mln).

The government holds a 51.17% stake in the air carrier.
