MOSCOW, May 16 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's largest independent gas producer Novatek [RTS: NVTK] said Wednesday its revenue according to Russian Accounting Standards (RAS) increased by an annualized 7.9%, to 12.4 billion rubles ($480 million).
Earlier reports said Novatek's RAS net profit in the same period went up 2.3%, to 3.2 billion rubles ($124 million).
In September 2006, Russian energy giant Gazprom announced that it had closed a deal to buy 19.39% in Novatek from Levit and Cyprus-based SWGI Growth Fund, the company's major shareholders, for $2.3 billion. Novatek's shares are traded on the RTS, NASDAQ and the London Stock Exchange (LSE).
