Russian monetary base up $3.5 bln in week to $140 bln

MOSCOW, July 20 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Central Bank said Friday the country's narrowly defined money supply (M1) was 3,568.7 billion rubles ($140.4 billion at the current exchange rate) as of July 16, up 89 billion rubles ($3.5 billion) in the week since July 9.

According to the Bank, M1 money supply consists of the currency issued by the bank, including cash in vaults of credit institutions, and required reserves balances on ruble deposits with the Central Bank.
