Russia's MICEX Group posts 120% rise in IFRS net income in 2006

MOSCOW, August 8 (RIA Novosti) - The Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange (MICEX) said Wednesday its consolidated net income calculated to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) increased 120% year-on-year in 2006 to 2.4 billion rubles (about $94 million).

The bourse said MICEX Group shareholder equity grew 27% in the reporting period to 8.1 billion rubles (about $318 million).

Founded in the early 1990s during post-Soviet market reforms, the MICEX Group is comprised of MICEX, the MICEX Stock Exchange, the National Mercantile Exchange, the MICEX Settlement House, the National Depositary Center, the National Clearing Center, and regional exchanges.

Deloitte & Touche CIS, the MICEX auditor, said in its report that the trading floor's financial statements fairly represented the company's activities.
