Russian monetary base up $67 mln in week to $140.3 bln

MOSCOW, August 10 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Central Bank said Friday the country's narrowly defined money supply (M1) was 3 trillion 577.6 million rubles ($140.3 billion at the current exchange rate) as of August 6, up 1.7 billion rubles ($66.6 million) in the week since July 30.

According to the Bank, M1 money supply consists of the currency issued by the bank, including cash in vaults of credit institutions, and required reserves balances on ruble deposits with the Central Bank.
