Aeroflot posts 19% increase in Jan-Jun net profit to $161 mln -1

MOSCOW, October 22 (RIA Novosti) - Aeroflot, Russia's largest air carrier, posted a 19% year-on-year increase in net profit calculated to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), to $161 million in the first half of 2007.
During the period, the company's net profit calculated to Russian Accounting Standards dropped 25% to 3.3 billion rubles ($131 million).
Aeroflot's IFRS earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) grew 66.4% to $340.6 million, pre-tax profit was up 32.1% to $246.4 million and revenue from passenger and freight carriage climbed 22.8% to $1.36 billion in the first half of the year, the company said.
