NOVOSIBIRSK, March 31 (RIA Novosti) - A Turkish firm will start building a 130 million euro ($205 mln) glass container factory in Novosibirsk in West Siberia in May, the regional state investment agency said on Monday.

Glass packaging producer Anadolu Cam Sanayii will build the plant, with annual capacity of 1 billion bottles, under a deal reached with the Novosibirsk Region administration in August 2007.

"The construction will start in May and the first glass-smelting furnace is planned to be built by the end of the year, when the first stage of the plant will be commissioned," said Vladimir Kozhevnikov, the general director of the region's investment development agency, which serves as an intermediary between the authorities and businesses.

The official said the plant, which will be located near Novosibirsk's Tolmachevo Airport and will occupy 40 hectares, is to be completed within three years.

Goods produced at the factory will be supplied to the leading drinks producers of Russia and other former Soviet republics.

It will be the fourth plant the Turkish company has built in Russia. Anadolu Cam Sanayii has one factory in Georgia and three in Turkey.
