MOSCOW, April 3 (RIA Novosti) - Rostelecom [RTS: RTKM] said on Thursday its net profit calculated to Russian Accounting Standards increased 31.2% year-on-year in 2007 to 9.42 billion rubles ($390 million).
The national long-distance telecommunications operator said its earnings in the reporting period climbed 4.3%, to 62.59 billion rubles ($2.6 billion).
Rostelecom, a subsidiary of Russia's state-run telecoms giant Svyazinvest, said revenue growth was driven by new communications channels, promotion of the company's intelligent network services, and the provision of data transmission and maintenance services.
