Russia's Power Machines to supply $10mln equipment to Brazil

MOSCOW, August 14 (RIA Novosti) - Power Machines, Russia's leading heavy machinery manufacturer, said on Monday it would supply equipment worth over 7 million euros ($10 million) for a hydropower plant under construction in Brazil.

Under a contract signed with Brazilian engineering company Energ Power, the Russian manufacturer will supply two hydropower generators with a capacity of 41 MW each for the San Joan hydropower plant being built in the state of Rio Grande do Sul in southern Brazil, Power Machines said in a statement.

The generators are scheduled to go online in early 2010, the statement said.

Power Machines accounts for 37% of Russia's turbines, turbo-generators, hydro-generators and electrical equipment market. It produces, assembles, services and modernizes equipment for hydro, thermal, gas and nuclear power plants and the transportation industry. The company has clients in 87 countries.
