Rambler Media posts $500,000 IFRS net loss in 1H08

MOSCOW, September 23 (RIA Novosti) - Rambler Media, a leading Russian Internet media and services group, announced Tuesday a $500,000 net loss calculated to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in January-June 2008.

In January-June 2007, Rambler Media posted a net profit of $6.7 million.

The group's consolidated revenue grew 152%, year-on-year, in January-June 2008 to $51.7 million and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) improved to $8.9 million, with EBITDA margin of 17.3%, the statement said.

Rambler Media group includes the Russian-language internet portal and search engine Rambler.ru, the online news publisher Lenta.ru, the broadband service ISP Rambler Telecom, and the interactive advertising company Index20.

Rambler Media generates revenue largely from advertizing, which includes banner or display advertizing, context display advertizing and sponsored key-word searches.
