Average Urals oil price drops to $97 in September
19:12 01/10/2008
MOSCOW, October 1 (RIA Novosti) - The average world price for Russia's Urals oil blend rose $23.22 per barrel year-on-year in September to $97, Russia's Finance Ministry said Wednesday.
The oil price stopped growing in August, when the average dropped to $111.51 per barrel, said Alexander Sakovich, deputy head of the ministry's customs payment department.
The Russian government adjusts export duty on crude and petroleum products every two months, reflecting Urals price changes on world markets.
The government repeatedly raised its forecasts for the average yearly oil price of Urals this year, from the initial $53 per barrel to $74 and on to $86 and $92. Now the average price is expected to be $112. The figure is a key indicator for budget revenues.
