MOSCOW, May 20 (RIA Novosti) - Russian Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin said on Wednesday he plans to discuss the economic crisis with his foreign colleagues during the St. Petersburg forum on June 4-6.
Kudrin, who is due to deliver a report during the forum, said he will also meet with colleagues from the Eurasian Economic Community (Eurasec) and representatives from the U.S. administration.
The forum will be devoted to urgent issues of global development. It will be divided into two parts, covering economic and financial topics, and involve more than 2,000 participants.
The minister said his counterpart from Hong Kong and leading economic experts, including Nobel laureates, have been invited to attend the forum, which will gather representatives of the Russian and international business community.
The participants will discuss the future of international financial bodies, prospects for the banking sector’s development and the effectiveness of foreign government’s anti-crisis measures.
Special attention will be paid to Russia’s role in solving the economic issues. This year the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum will hold a separate “financial” day for the first time since its creation.
