NEW YORK, August 2 (RIA Novosti) - Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich has ordered a 170-meter (557-foot) yacht, which will make him the owner of the world's largest yacht, Forbes magazine said.
The Chelsea FC owner, who already owns a 115-meter (377-foot) yacht, is reportedly spending between $300 million and $700 million on his newest vessel, the Eclipse, Forbes said.
Once he takes possession, most likely in 2010, Abramovich will be able to take over bragging rights from Oracle's chief executive Larry Ellison and Dreamworks' David Geffen, who co-own the nearly 138-meter (453-foot) Rising Sun, Forbes said.
According to Forbes, the new boat is also at least 25 feet longer than any other yacht currently in existence, including several belonging to Middle East royalty.
The German Bild newspaper earlier reported that the Eclipse, with 11 guest cabins, two swimming pools and a disco hall, is equipped with a German missile-detection system, two helicopter pads and a miniature submarine capable of diving to 50 meters.
The luxury vessel, which has windows made of bulletproof glass in Abramovich's master suite, can reach speeds of 75 kilometers per hour.
The Russian billionaire's private fleet currently consists of three large yachts - the Pelorus, Sussurro and Ecstasea.
