MOSCOW, September 2 (RIA Novosti) - Gazprom is planning to boost its offshore gas reserves by 5.6 trillion cubic meters to 10 trillion cubic meters by 2020, a deputy board chairman of the Russian energy giant said on Wednesday.
Valery Golubev said that Gazprom's offshore gas reserves were currently estimated at 4.7 trillion cubic meters or 14% of the company's total reserves.
"Until 2020, we'll carry out a large volume of work on the shelf, drilling 100 exploratory wells. This will add 5.6 trillion cubic meters to Gazprom's reserves," Golubev said.
Gazprom will then have around 10 trillion category C1 offshore gas reserves, he said.
