Russia's largest truck maker, KamAZ, restarted on Monday its main assembly line after a freeze since early August.

KAZAN, September 7 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's largest truck maker, KamAZ, restarted on Monday its main assembly line after a freeze since early August, the company's PR director said.

The assembly line was halted to clear overstock due to low sales.

"As scheduled, the car plant's main assembly line will be restarted on September 7," Oleg Afanasyev said.

The company's three suppliers of engines, wheels and other auto components resumed production last week.

KamAZ, which owns 96 plants, has yet to finalize plans for September output, the number of working days, and the volume of work for subsidiaries.

The company is the world's 11th largest truck maker, and the eighth largest producer of diesel engines globally.
