Russia’s Tver Region may cooperate with Canada in beef farming
MOSCOW, October 13 (RIA Novosti) - Central Russia’s Tver Region may cooperate with Canadian specialists to create a study center for farmers and agriculture students, the region’s governor said.
Governor Dmitry Zelenin discussed the possibility at a meeting with Canadian Agricultural Minister Gerry Ritz and Canadian businessmen.
“Another matter which was discussed is a creation of a Russian-Canadian agricultural village as an example of Canadian livestock culture,” Zelenin said.
The governor also said that Tver and Canada had successfully cooperated in livestock breeding and that a Tver farm had applied a method introduced by Canadian experts to improve the genes of cows bred for beef.
