YEREVAN, October 29 (RIA Novosti) - The second Russian industrial exhibition entitled Expo-Russia Armenia will be held in Yerevan October 29-31, the Russian Science and Culture Center said Thursday.

The exposition involves some 60 Russian and Armenian companies representing, in particular, the spheres of energy industry, machine building, metallurgy, high technology, construction, automotive industry, telecommunications, agriculture and the pharmaceutical industry.

"The exhibition is aimed at developing economic, scientific, technological and educational cooperation between Russia and Armenia," the center said in a statement, adding that the event will boost trade and investment relations.

President Serzh Sargsyan is expected to attend the ceremony to open the exposition that will involve Russia's Sukhoi aircraft maker, Russian Railways, the VimpelCom mobile operator and other companies.

The first exhibition Expo-Russia Armenia was held in the Armenian capital a year ago. It was attended by about 60 companies from 30 Russian regions.

Bilateral trade between the countries is close to $1 billion. Energy is a priority in the Russian-Armenian cooperation. The two countries have been discussing implementation of new large-scale joint projects in the mining and processing industries, transportation and communications.
