Germany posts 0.7% quarter-on-quarter GDP growth in Q3

MOSCOW, November 13 (RIA Novosti) - German gross domestic product grew 0.7% quarter-on-quarter in July-September 2009, the country's federal statistics body Destatis said on Friday.

At the same time, German GDP declined 4.7% in July-September 2009 as compared with the same period last year, Destatis said.

It is expected that the national economy will shrink 5% in 2009, the largest slump for the German economy since 1970.

Analysts expect a 1.2% growth in 2010.
