Colombia is looking to attract Russian investment in any sector and is prepared to offer potential investors all necessary guarantees, Colombian Foreign Minister Jaime Bermudez said on Monday.
"The aim of my visit to Russia is clear. Colombia wants to be closer to Russia," Bermudez told a business meeting at the Russian Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
"Colombia will welcome all possible investors from Russia and promises all possible guarantees to potential Russian investors."
Bermudez's visit to Russia comes after Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin visited Venezuela on April 2, where he signed lucrative contracts, including an arms deal and an agreement on the development of the huge Junin-6 oilfield.
Bermudez also said Colombia expected to expand trade with Russia. Bilateral commodity turnover increased 5% to $223.6 million last year
