Russian flagship carrier Aeroflot signed a contract on Monday with Airbus for the delivery of 11 A330-300 long-haul airliners at the Farnborough air show in England.

Airbus said that Aeroflot will purchase each plane for $190-200 million and the total amount of the deal is estimated between $2.1-2.2 billion.

The French company said in its press release that the newly ordered A330-300s will feature a spacious two class cabin layout seating around 300 passengers.

"We are delighted that our long-standing partner Aeroflot continues to choose the A330 for the further development of its wide-body fleet. With proven passenger appeal, the A330 is providing unbeatable economic efficiency, making it the perfect choice for medium capacity operations. This order underscores the continued and strong popularity of the A330 with the world's leading airlines," said John Leahy, Airbus Chief Operating Officer.

Aeroflot, Airbus' first client in Russia, has 64 A320 planes, 10 leased A330 planes and is waiting for the delivery of a new A350, which was ordered in 2007.
