Russia's Federal Financial Markets Service may attend an extraordinary shareholders meeting of Russian metals giant Norilsk Nickel as an observer, the head of the service said on Thursday.
Vladimir Milovidov said the FFMS was still studying the results of the previous shareholders meeting and that its presence at the next meeting, scheduled for October 21, was "part of the ongoing check."
The service has been working to help resolve a conflict between the shareholders of the world's largest nickel producer.
Vladimir Potanin and Oleg Deripaska have been fighting for control over the plant since the company's annual shareholders meeting in June. The oligarchs are in dispute over the number of board seats allocated after the board election, as well as management appointments.
