The Russian government and central bank have decided not to impose an additional tax on banks, as some leading Western countries have done, Central Bank Chairman Sergei Ignatiev said on Friday.
"We are currently in consultation with the government on this issue, and so far it has been decided not to impose such a tax," Ignatiev told the State Duma, the lower house of parliament.
