The rate of inflation in Russia will amount to 8-8.5% in 2010, Economic Development Minister Elvira Nabiullina said on Tuesday.

The rate of inflation in Russia will amount to 8-8.5% in 2010, Economic Development Minister Elvira Nabiullina said on Tuesday.

Official forecasts put the figure at 7-8%.

The country's 2010 budget deficit will be around 4.5%, which is 0.8% lower than official forecasts, Nabiullina told journalists in Geneva.

She said the ministry expected Russia's economic growth to amount to 3.8% by yearend.
