Russian companies are interested in acquiring stakes in Poland's Lotos oil company, Russian Energy Minister Sergei Shmatko said on Monday.
"Russian companies are interested, we'll hold consultations on the principal participation of Russian companies in the privatization of Lotos," Shmatko said, but declined to name the Russian companies which could take part in the privatization.
Russia hoped to participate "in accordance with the principles of non-discrimination and equal participation in the contest," he said.
Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller has said his company is interested in acquiring a stake in Lotos.
Lotos' main activity is processing of oil and production and retail of oil products including gasoline, diesel and jet fuel. The company has a nationwide chain of filling stations in Poland.
