Russia resumed on Tuesday oil deliveries to Belarus, halted pending a new price agreement in late December, Russia's state-controlled oil pipeline monopoly Transneft said.

Reports earlier in the day said Russian and Belarusian companies had finally agreed on the oil price.

Russia's second largest oil producer LUKoil, the core oil supplier to Belarus, said however it had no information that agreements had been signed.

In 2010, Russia slapped duties on crude oil exports to Belarus to prevent Minsk from cashing in on re-exporting Russian oil derivatives to the EU.

Under a Russian-Belarusian common economic space agreement signed in early December 2010, Russia agreed to lift the tariffs from January 1 on condition that Minsk transfers to Russia duties from refined oil sales.
