Odnoklassniki.ru, Russia's second largest social network, plans to set up a music commercial service, a source close to the company told RIA Novosti on Wednesday.

"Representatives of the social network are now in talks with copyright holders and plan to launch a Music service by subscription," the source said.

On Wednesday, Odnoklassniki.ru launched the Music section in a test regime, allowing users to play and upload MP3 files. Each user may upload up to 100 tracks but must fully assume responsibility for respecting copyright.

Odnoklassniki.ru, the Russian analogue of Classmates.com, is considering different ways of getting profit from the new project such as introducing a daily time limit of listening to music on-line free of charge. If a user exceeds the limit, he will have to pay and copyright holders will receive part of the revenues.

Odnoklassniki.ru has a potential audience of 40 million people. Liveinternet.ru statistics service says about 20 million people visit Odnoklassniki.ru daily.
