Russia's budget deficit will fall to just to 0.1 percent of the country's gross domestic product from the previous estimate of 1.5 percent of GDP, the Finance Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
Russia's state budget deficit in 2012 will amount to 68.144 billion rubles ($2.311 billion), down from the previous forecast of 876.589 billion rubles ($29.724 billion), the Ministry said.
The ministry forecasts GDP this year will total 60.59 trillion rubles, up from its previous estimate of 58.683 trillion rubles.
The upper limit of the state internal debt is estimated at 5.462 trillion rubles as of January 1, 2013 against previous 6.331 trillion rubles, while upper level of the state foreign debt is forecast at $56.5 billion against previous $48.4 billion.
Russia's budget deficit amounted to 245.34 billion rubles ($8.313 billion) between January and February 2012, double the government forecast of about 124 billion rubles ($4.202 billion) or 1.5 percent of gross domestic product.
