Belgian Chris Verschueren, 53, has set a new world record for the non-stop making of French fries.

Belgian Chris Verschueren, 53, has set a new world record for the non-stop making of French fries.

He served a total of 15,000 portions of the dish within 83 hours, beating by 11 hours the previous record set in 1987 by a Briton.

Verschueren sold the dish per 1 euro for a portion. One half of the money will go to a university clinic in Leuven, in the central Belgium province of Brabant, for the treatment of ill children, as the son of the Belgian suffers from hemiplegia. The second half of the money will go to cover the expenses for serving the food.
