Crafoord Prize in Astronomy 2012 goes to two scientists from U.S. and Germany
The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences awarded the Crafoord Prize in Astronomy 2012 to U.S. scientist Andrea Ghez, University of California, and German researcher Reinhard Genzel, Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics, “for their observations of stars orbiting the galactic centre, indicating the presence of a supermassive black hole".
