At least 24 killed in Chinese bus blaze

BEIJING, June 5 (RIA Novosti) - At least 24 people were killed in the southwestern Chinese city of Chengdu early on Friday when a bus caught fire, Xinhua said.

About 40-50 people were injured, according to various sources. Many of them are in a critical condition.

It is unclear what caused the fire which totally destroyed the passenger bus.

Fire investigators and firefighters are working at the scene to try and establish the cause of the blaze.
